There was fruit, cereal and cooked food for breakfast each day.
Whilst there was a good selection it would have been nice to have different items in the menu each day. For example fried eggs were not an option

the hotel was nice, however, when i got there they didn't have my reservation in thier system so something on your end was a bit screwy. it all worked out, though, and the staff was nice.

Friendly and efficient staff, great buffet breakfast, clean, comfy and spacious room with well equipped bathroom. Close proximity to the city and the Swan River, 10 minute walk either way. Good location and modern decor.
View from window could have been better. We requested Swan river views but got another building's side wall instead.

Hotel's excellent elocation was just a few minutes away from Perth's main central shopping area which suited my wife very well. It was also only a short walk down to the Esplanade, the Swan Bells and the ferry/cruise jetties on the Swan River. A longer walk takes you to the beautiful King's Park with its panoramic views across the CBD (Central Business District) skyscrapers and the Swan River. Our room was comfortable and quiet with useful tea/coffee making facilites and fridge which you don't get in European hotels. Hotel pool on roof was small but nice to be able to cool off or sunbathe on a hot day. The restaurant had a good choice and quality of evening meals and winelist.
Hotel Receptionist wasn't very welcoming or engaging when we booked in. It doesn't take much to say something like "Welcome to the Mercure Perth. I hope you enjoy your stay. Any problems please don't hesitate to contact us at Reception". Note that not all Reception staff were like this. Our bathroom needed updating and renovated. The written instructions in the room to operate the air conditioning were confusing and required a call to Reception. The cost of breakfast in the main restaurant was pricey so we used their Hydrant cafe one morning but when it closed for the Easter weekend we went to the nearby (200m) King hotel in Hay Street. Gym was reasonably well equiped but didn't appear to have any air conditioning.

Really enjoyed Perth, the hotel was reliable within walking distance of the harbour. The staff were very pleasant, as for 4-stars venue. There was an adjoining bar and great food at the attached restaurant.
There was no hotel parking.

Request a room on a higher floor for better views, as lower floors can feel noisy and dated.

Its convenience to the cbd
Dinner in the resteraunt left a lot to be desired...The waitress could not tell us what the meal came with...French Lamb Cutlets were not very "French" the fat was left on them and they were a little under done. Our friends from Melbourne, also staying at the Mercure, were also disppointed. Salad was ordered, but vegetables came instead!!
